Carlisle Pumptrack

What is a pumptrack?

In short, it is a self-contained bicycle circuit composed of banked turns and undulating mounds of dirt for riders of all skill levels to develop better bike handling skills and cardiovascular fitness, all while having a ton of fun!

Where is the Carlisle Pumptrack located?

The track is in the Borough of Carlisle’s Valley Meadows Park located at 203 Meadows Blvd, Carlisle, PA.

Who is involved in this project?

Cumberland Youth Cycling Development (CYCD), our nonprofit 501c3 corporation, is partnering with the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation, the Partnership for Better Health and other businesses and individuals in the community to make our dream of a regionally significant facility available to the Carlisle community and beyond. CYCD will build and maintain the track.

What is the status of the project?

The pump track is officially complete and has been open to the public since April 2024! Our work doesn’t stop there, though. Because the track is built from dirt, it requires ongoing maintenance and annual soil replacement. Thanks to our incredible volunteer crew, we’ve continued to enhance the facility and expand its offerings. We’ve formalized plans to add a strider track and a skills area featuring challenges like drops and skinnies. We’re also exploring resurfacing options so the track can remain open year-round, giving riders even more opportunities to enjoy it.
